Auckland Sexual Abuse HELP supports and empowers women and children in thier healing from the effects of sexual abuse or assault. HELP began in 1982 in response to concerns expressed by the then Auckland police surgeon regarding the effects of the medical forensic process on rape victims. Today HELP is the largest provider of services to survivors of sexual abuse/assault. HELP provides a 24hr crisis service, therapy services for adults, youth and children and their families. HELP also offers education programmes and is part of a national netowrk to end sexual violence, a national taskforce on sexual abuse and is part of Project Restore - a restorative justice programme.
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
Support from Sovereign Sunshine would enable us to provide a service to the caregivers of children who have been sexually abused, for which there is no government funding at present, or to continue our prevention education programme in preschools, which provides a programme for children and their parents/caregivers in preschools across Auckland.

| Existing sponsors or funders: | HELP relies on a range of philanthropic giving through donations and grants from trusts and foundations for much of the income necessary to provide our services. We do have contracts with ACC, CYFs and the ADHB for our core services in counselling for our clients and for the regional crisis response service we provide. However, for our educational programmes, collaborative projects, national advocacy work, and innovative work with caregivers and families it is not always covered by the level of core funding we currently receive. |
