The Epilepsy Association of New Zealand has been in operation since 1956, and is the only non-profit service provider dedicated to supporting people with epilepsy, with our primary role being the well-being and interests of people with epilepsy in an effort to improve their quality of life, and interaction with their families/whanau and the wider community. We provide the following free services through our devoted team of Field Officers:

  1. Children and people with epilepsy - Liaising with Paediatricians and Neurologists.
  2. Adolescents - Facilitating with social interaction and acceptance of their epilepsy.
  3. Women - Support in coping with epilepsy and pregnancy.
  4. Families - Interaction between home and school.
  5. Education and Training - At schools, workplaces and in the general community.
  6. Support Groups - For all people who are affected by epilepsy in some way.
  7. Information Resources - Literature, videos, etc. explaining epilepsy.

"We want to live in a society where everyone understands epilepsy and where attitudes are based on fact not fiction."
