Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis is NZ's most common life-threatening inherited disease and the CF Association is the only national organisation dedicated to all aspects of the condition.

Mission - to help people with Cystic Fibrosis to live their best life through support, education and work to find a cure.

Of all births in New Zealand, 1 in 3000 to 1 in 3,500 infants born will have Cystic Fibrosis. Currently there are more than 400 children and adults with Cystic Fibrosis in New Zealand.

The goal of the Association is to ensure increased life expectancy for people with cystic fibrosis and improved quality of life for them and their families; and through research to achieve better control and ultimate cure for the illness. Providing counseling services, advice and education for young people growing up with CF, through our Field worker staff, website and providing speakers on relevant subjects at our Annual Conference.
