We were created in 1997.
Our Mission Statement: Child Connection is a community organisation that stands for the fundamental and universal right of all children to closeness and belonging - an essential and basic factor for their life, health and wellbeing.This fundamental and universal right is also known as 'Secure Attachment' and is created by touch and sensory stimulation during childhood.
Since 2005 we have been focusing on the Discovery Programme which we created especially for preschoolers. The Discovery programme is essentially a tool for parents to interact with their children in a meaningful way. Research has shown that early bonding, touch and sensory stimulation support positive brain connections. This in turn will enable our children to become self-contained, happy adults - the dream of every parent.
Often something happens for us to stop touching our children and many parents find it hard to be in their children's world with so many demands on their time and energy. Sometimes parents also have issues with touch or emotional issues from childhood that stop them giving their children the experiences they need. Once parents start doing some of the games presented in Discovery, they start bonding with their child in a different way. Their relationship changes, there is more fun in the family and the children are less prone to tantrums and other attention-seeking behaviour. Parents start to enjoy playing with their children and learn to follow their child in play.
Our Vision: To introduce Child Connection programmes (Discovery, Children Massaging Children and Safe Touch - Healthy Touch) on a national and international scale to prevent child abuse, depression, suicide and family violence and to build healthy families and society.

Our Objectives:
- To educate parents and professionals working with children about children's needs for Secure Attachment
- To teach skills and tools developed by Child Connection that help to build Secure Attachment.
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
- To publish colourful booklets for 'Discovery' programme Term 1 to support our classes
- To award our devoted volunteers accountant, coordinators, instructors and keep them motivated
- To buy a projector to be used for our presentations, lectures and workshops we run for parents and caregivers
