Let's make something perfectly clear - children who are deaf CAN learn how to listen and speak. Today, with the technology of cochlear implants, advanced hearing aids, and a specialised therapy called Auditory-Verbal Therapy, even profoundly deaf children can learn how to listen and speak clearly and naturally like their hearing peers.

The Hearing House vision is to transform disability into extraordinary ability through our mission of enabling deaf children to listen and speak. Giving them the ability to fulfill their potential and live an independent life in a hearing and speaking world. 96% of deaf children who complete The Hearing House programme attend mainstream school and of these children, 91% can listen and speak like their hearing peers.

Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:

The donation will contribute directly to providing Auditory-Verbal Therapy to children to teach them how to listen and speak. It costs over $10,000 per year for each child on the programme. If The Hearing House won the Sovereign Sunshine Donation it could be used to fund over 50 individual children's clinical sessions on The Hearing House programme, or it could be used to sponsor one child through The Hearing House programme for a year. You can decide!

Currently The Hearing House receives less than 25% of its funding from the government, so The Hearing House relies on independent funding and donations to continue providing services to deaf children and their families free of charge.  Help us to transform the lives of deaf and hearing impaired children.
