True Colours is a family focussed service providing specialist nursing support and emotional care to children and young people (0-18 years) who live with a chronic, serious or life-threatening illness. We provide holistic care and family centred support recognising and encompassing the physical, emotional, social and spiritual contexts of health and wellbeing.

True Colours Charitable Trust is a Not for Profit organisation founded in Hamilton, New Zealand in 2004. The Trust was set up to assist children and young people who live with chronic, serious or life-threatening illnesses; and their families.
Care offered by True Colours focuses on enhancing quality of life for children, young people their families and is offered in a holistic way embracing physical, social, emotional, and spiritual elements.
Parents who live with chronic or seriously ill children experience many levels of emotion such as helplessness and hopelessness. True Colours hope is to relieve these feelings for the parent and their child through creating an environment and offering resources that allow moments of joy, stimulation and quality time together.
Sovereign Sunshine funds would assist with further development of therapeutic and sensory spaces. New lighting, music, sensory devices, textures, painting, colours and special furniture and a resource library with specialty books, music and DVD’s for the families are on our wish list.
