Helping to provide these things is what we do.
By creating, finding and supporting programmes that directly improve the health and well-being of children, Ronald McDonald House Charities is working to better the lives of children and their families in New Zealand.
Our core programmes are all focused on helping families in need, and are developed after long term research and evaluation to ensure we are meeting the needs of children and families the best possible ways. So we can maximize the donations we receive from the public McDonald’s looks after all the day to day administration costs of the charity. This means that 100% of all donations we receive goes towards our programmes.
Since 1989 Ronald McDonald House Charities has helped develop and continue to support:
- 3 x Ronald McDonald Houses located in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch
- 2 x Ronald McDonald Family Rooms situated in Starship Children’s and Wellington Hospitals
- 1 x Ronald McDonald Care Mobile operating in the Far North
- 1 x Ronald McDonald Family Retreat situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua at Ngongotaha
- 1 x Ronald McDonald House Charities Family Unit situated next ot the Neo-Natal Unit and Kidz First Hospital
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
McDonald's are our principle supporter which means that 100% of every donation we receive goes directly to our programmes. McDonald's take care of the day to day administration costs of our charity. A donation from Sovereign Sunshine will go directly towards the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programme, operating in the Far North region of the North Island. This programme provides basic oral dental health care to children aged preschool to 12 years old. Being a mobile unit means the vehicle is able to be moved in the different townships throughout the Far North. Since 2005, the programme began meeting the needs of dental care to children who were not receiving any regular check-ups.
