Plunket is one of the largest voluntary organisations in NZ and a major provider of well child health services for children under the age of five.
Our vision: Together the best start for every child. Ma te mahi ngatahi, e puawai ai a tatou tamariki.
Plunket has been caring for young families for over a hundred years. Today, over 90%percent of babies born in New Zealand are Plunket babies. Plunket's strength in
the community means we can work in partnership with others to achieve shared goals around child health and wellbeing, strengthening families, and community engagement.
As a national organisation that is locally responsive, Plunket is uniquely able to create change. Plunket has a tradition of caring, a history of service and a record
of helping to make our communities friendlier places in which to raise healthy children.
Our services include car seat rental schemes, family centres (offering support and information on parenting issues, breastfeeding, infant nutrition, sleeping, child behaviour and post-natal depression), five different education programmes for parents (from Antenatal classes to Parents as First Teachers), a variety of parent groups (including coffee groups and dance and movement groups), PlunketLine (0800 933 922), well child assessments (monitoring children's health and development from 6 weeks - 5 years of age), toy libraries, and a volunteer education programme.

We are continually fundraising, to enable us to keep helping NZ families. We would use a Sovereign Sunshine donation to help fund our Car Seat Rental Schemes, Parent Education Programmes, and Volunteer Training courses.
