We carry out or facilitate education and research within New Zealand on the causes and consequences of child poverty and publicise the results. We also provide and facilitate opportunities for public debate on the issues associated with child poverty. We encourage and promote the development of better policies for children and young people with the primary focus on the right of every child and young person to equitable security, food, shelter, education, healthcare and opportunities for development. We promote public awareness and understanding of the issues associated with child poverty and the importance of those issues for the community as a whole.
