Read more about De Paul House:
De Paul House is the only provider of emergency housing in the North Shore/Rodney region. Our clients are families drawn from all over the North Island.
De Paul House provides not only the basic necessities of life (shelter, food, clothing and furniture) but also the opportunity to upskill to a level at which families can sustain independent living in the community.
Currently we offer:
- 10 residential units
- the support and assistance of family support workers.
- a free playgroup for 0-5year olds for resident and outreach families
- adult education and life skills courses currently focussing on adult literacy and numeracy, computing for employment and budget cooking.
- a supervised homework centre for resident families children with access to the internet and computers
- an outreach support service which provides essential support for families once rehoused in the community
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
Your donation would be used to support our playgroup and homework centre. Both of these facilities offer services which most New Zealand children take for granted - computers with internet access, assistance with homework, a quiet learning space, and fun friendly opportunities for pre-school education. However for the children of De Paul House families they present opportunities which have previously been unknown. Equal opportunities for all New Zealand children are a key part of De Paul House's philosophy.
