We work to maximise the benefits of the family unit as a base for learning. We create a working relationship between the child and parent, to achieve a better common understanding of mathematics and the importance of the subject in today's society.
We have three main activities -
- running family workshops for care-givers and children to be introduced to repeatable, fun, thinking, cooperative maths activities
- producing a maths activity newsletter for schools and families
- encouraging, through support and training, communities to run regular Family Maths activity workshops for their communities
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
We would use a donation to promote and facilitate Family Workshops in lower decile areas. This will mean more families can attend without having to find extra money to cover the costs.
