About GirlGuiding NZ GirlGuiding New Zealand is a girls’ only organisation, proudly run by woman for the next generation of girls. We give girls and young women the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of social, recreational and community action experiences that build competence and resilience, encouraging them to develop themselves and help others.
Guiding is all about preparing girls for making the most of life ahead. Our aim is to help girls develop skills, knowledge, values and a sense of adventure through an informal learning programme that’s designed to be relevant to the interests of today’s girls. We provide a fun, safe environment where girls are encouraged to be themselves, where they can discover their potential, and where their ambition is nurtured. Girls can take part in Guiding activities from any age at any time of the year. Ranging in age from 5-18, girls are encouraged to progress through Pippins, Brownies, Guides and Rangers in a caring and supportive environment, working with other girls in a spirit of fun and friendship unselfishly assisted by leaders and helpers who are all volunteers. Statement of purpose - We enable girls and young women to develop their full potential and make a difference in the world.

Guiding can be a wonderful addition to a girl's weekly programme – it is not just a sports group or schooling, but is an active programme packed with life skills and basic values which girls can draw on throughout their lives. This donation will enable us to continue to develop and deliver our girl-focused, balanced and exciting programmes and to extend these opportunities to girls from a wider range of backgrounds (e.g. ethnic groups, isolated areas, abilities etc).
