Our aims are:
To provide help & support for families with a child or adult with Williams Syndrome.
To provide resources for parents, teachers, employers and the medical profession.
To provide information on current research.
To empower those with WS to reach their full potential.

We aim to increase awareness and understanding of WS among the medical & teaching professions & the general public.

Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:

To hold a national camp for people with Williams Syndrome & their families. The camp is held every two years & is a vital support & information sharing opportunity.  It is an opportunity for families to share experiences & friendship in an environment where everyone understands the issues this syndrome can cause.

People with WS can mix with others like themselves - others who accept them for what they are. Siblings also get together & help each other - supporting them to understand & cope with their brother/sister who has WS. Speakers are also arranged to provide information about WS, coping strategies & also general options for managing behaviours etc. The camp is also the only opportunity for the Association to hold it's AGM.

As a national association of families, without the camp, it would be impossible for us to get together & fulfill the requirement of an AGM. The camp will be held in mid January 2011 in Tolcarne Boarding Residence, Dunedin.
