Mission Statement: to offer up-to-date information, advocacy, referrals, education, counselling and support, for the well being of young people and their families in a safe environment, from a young person's persepective.
We are an independant organisation, helping at-risk youth and thier families for over 15 years.
The Young Peoples Trust is a vital and intrinsic part of the community. Our street and professional credibility has increased over our 15 years of service and has supplied our young people with a reliable, trustworthy, professional service that not only changes lives but saves them.
The Trust provides a moral conscience and place for young people to be accountable and make changes to their lives. As societal pressures increase, so does the impact on the community. This demands more of agencies within the community. We ensure we increase our services to meet the ever increasing need.
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
In the last financial year the Trust has helped over 3,800 clients. We help people who have a lack of money, feel intimadated by mainstream systems and are unaware of existing help agencies. Often they are affected by drugs, alcohol, low self worth, self mutilation, all forms of abuse, learning disabilities and mental illness; the list is endless. We do not turn away anyone who needs our help.
We do not receive funding for these clients and we have the demand from the community to service over 900 clients a year who have no funding to cover their expenses. These clients are often in crisis and it is imperative they obtain our specialised assistance. With $15,000 we can fund 272 clients. This cost is for a professional assessment by a trained person. A client plan is drawn up involving the client's needs and requirements, referrals, follow up, paper work and implementation timings.
