To assist us to purchase and rennovate an adjacent house for the purposes of developing a family/whanau development centre using a playgroup model. We have an extensive waiting list at our existing Early Childhood Centre and have not been able to secure funding from the Ministry of Education to build a second Educare Centre. We now have the opportunity to purchase a large house next door to our properties from Housing New Zealand and we aim to convert this into a two generational family/whanau development centre where children will be working with their parents using a playgroup model and also their will be the opportunity for parents to have their children cared for while they undertake first steps adult education courses in adjacent rooms. The donation would contribute to the rennovation of the Centre to allow it to be used as a playgroup and as a contrbution to a Coordinator's wages.(50/50 split).
