Vision: "Young People Free From Drugs

Mission: "To assist young people reach their full potential as contributing members of the community, free from the negative effects of drug use, by providing quality drug education and intervention services".

Our qualified A & D counsellors work with young people aged 10-19 throughout the Greater Wellington region, providing a free counselling, education and intervention service. We have been helping youth for 11 years, both in school/activity centres/police stations and at our offices, and last year saw 538 young people with alcohol/drug issues. 79.2% were able to stop or reduce their problematic A & D use. We believe we are contributing to our local economy, by making a significant number of young people more employable. We know that helping a youth at this stage saves 5 times as much in expenditure on health, social, and criminal justice services as it costs.

Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:

It is partly my responsibility to secure a third of our funding, which is becoming increasing more difficult with the downturn in the economy. By far our biggest expense is salaries, so any donation we might be successful in receiving would be used to support our counsellors salaries. All our staff are fully qualified, and WellTrust is a certified provider under the Health & Disability Sector Standards.
