Provision of resources geared to holistic personal growth, the ability to make good choices and decisions regarding personal behaviour and responsibility, personal safety and values. Our resources help to equip individuals to become valued members of NZ society. The resources are aimed at suicide prevention, violence and abuse prevention, drug & alcohol prevention, and life skills training and empowerment.
Winning a donation from Sovereign will help us achieve:
We would use the donation to reach thirty more schools with the 'Gemstones' school kit, one of the programmes we offer. Gemstones assists young people aged 11 – 13 years to understand aspects of their development, build a concept of who they are, learn how to make the most of their lives, and face the challenges that occur during this time of their life.
The number of children in each school to benefit would vary according to the size of the school, but the kit can be used for many years. As an example, one Intermediate school in Auckland has used the kit for 3 years now, with 700 children benefiting each year. We could provide 30 schools with Gemstones kits.
