| Description: | TASKS TO BE DONE: Mowing of grass, general weeding and pruning of yard / drive. The garden area is not big, with only a small amount of grass to be mown. TIME COMMITMENT: 1 to 2 hours per week in summer. Less needed in winter. LOCATION: Shirley area OTHER COMMENTS/SKILLS REQUIRED: Some tools provided including lawn mower and hoe. Telephone Support Worker |
| Description: | Our volunteers are ordinary people doing extraordinary things to make a difference in communities through their work in roles such as telephone support workers, fieldworkers and drop in centre workers. They come from all walks of life and being a rich variety of life experiences to their work as volunteers with Pregnancy Help. They don’t need to know all the answers but just be prepared to listen to people and support them in making their own choices. We provide training for volunteers and ongoing support through mentoring and supervision. Our telephone Support workers assist clients by listening and providing information to support the client making their own choices.
