St Patrick’s Day and Alice in Wonderland help raise funds for Children’s Autism Foundation

15 March 2010 - This month we are giving very thorough and practical assistance to families. We’re helping the Children’s Autism Foundation to fund their SHINE programme, which equips the family with the knowledge and confidence to help their child with autism cope and enjoy life in a meaningful way.

February’s six shortlisted charities to receive a share of $10,000

25 February 2010 - Thanks to the new donation structure and your votes, all six charities shortlisted in February will receive a donation. $10,000 has been divided between the six charities according to the proportion of the vote they received. In addition to this, the winning charity will receive an additional donation, from funds raised by Sovereign staff on Sunshine Day (10 March) and matched by Sovereign.

Sunshine Day fundraising gives $7,181 to Lisa’s Wish

15 February 2010 - This month our focus has been children whose parents or caregivers have terminal cancer. Our Human Resources and Adviser Distribution teams co-ordinated a day of fundraising activities on 10 February, and the money donated by Sovereign staff will be used by Lisa's Wish to help give these children the emotional support they need.

January’s six shortlisted charities to receive a share of $10,000

28 January 2010 - This year, Sovereign Sunshine works a little differently - meaning we'll be making a difference in the lives of even more Kiwi kids. Thanks to the new donation structure, all six charities shortlisted in the 'Children's health - mental wellness and support for emotional trauma' category will receive a portion of Sovereign's $10,000 donation, according to the 'share' of votes they received in January!

How animals are educating children through the RNZSPCA

24 January 2010 - The Royal New Zealand SPCA works across New Zealand to provide care and protection to animals, focusing in particular on animals that have been the victims of abuse, cruelty and neglect. A vital component of our work is educating the public on animal care and concerns, and key to this is our empathy education program, One of the Family.

Blankets bring a ray of sunshine to jaundice babies

30 July 2009 - Newborn babies at Starship Children's Hospital will soon benefit from lifesaving 'BiliBlankets' which are used for the treatment of babies suffering from jaundice. Starship Foundation's Fundraising Director Bobbie Brown, said the purchase of the two blankets was due to a recent donation of nearly $14,000 made by the Sovereign Sunshine initiative.

Funding boost for Plunket dads

23 June 2009 - New Zealand children and their Dads are set to benefit from a $15,000 donation to Plunket from the innovative Sovereign Sunshine initiative.
