All six short-listed charities will now receive a donation every month

News50

From January 2010 the way donations are made to charities will be structured differently. Instead of one donation going to the charity with the most votes each month, the total donation of up to $15,000 will be divided between the six charities.

$10,000 will be divided between the six monthly short-listed charities according to the proportion of the vote they receive.  In addition to this, the winning charity will receive an additional donation.

Sunshine Day is a mufti day held every month at Sovereign, and departments take turns to hold fundraising events and activities such as stair-races, garage sales, and lunch time quizzes.   Donations made by staff on Sunshine Day are also matched dollar for dollar by Sovereign, up to a maximum of $2,500. The total of the staff donations and Sovereign’s matched contribution will also be given to the winning charity.

We’ll let you know who wins the vote and how much each shortlisted charity receives in our monthly email, and we’ll also send you a reminder email the week before voting closes, if you haven’t yet cast your vote.  We’ve introduced these changes in response to your valuable feedback, and we’re keen to hear what you think of them once the new donations start.  Drop us an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
