Sunshine Day fundraising gives $7,181 to Lisa’s Wish
This month our focus has been children whose parents or caregivers have terminal cancer.
Our Human Resources and Adviser Distribution teams co-ordinated a day of fundraising activities on 10 February, and the money donated by Sovereign staff will be used by Lisa's Wish to help give these children the emotional support they need.
Our team of fundraisers met trustees Rosemarie and Debbie and heard of founder Lisa Knapman-Smith’s dream to set up a not-for-profit to help children facing this tragic situation.
Sovereign matched the donations given by staff, which were raised by selling home baked treats, raffling hampers and holding a lunchtime Valentine’s Day Quiz.
Lisa’s Wish has received a total donation of $7181.48 ($3004 from their share of the voting donation, plus $4,177.48 from Sunshine Day fundraising).
In addition, five other charities from January also received a share from the $10,000 donations, determined by the final vote count.
